Funding will accelerate the company's employer and financial institution growth strategies while expanding access to responsible liquidity solutions for workers and consumers.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – September 2, 2026 – Immediate, a leading earned wage access (EWA) and financial wellness platform, today announced the closing of a $13 million Series B led by BankTech Ventures, with participation from Castle Creek Launchpad, BankSouth, and new and existing investors. In conjunction with the Series B, Immediate also expanded its existing working capital facility with Always.bank, providing additional capacity to support the company’s continued growth.
The funding marks a significant milestone in Immediate's evolution from an employer-sponsored EWA provider into a broader financial infrastructure platform serving employers, banks, and credit unions. The capital will accelerate product innovation, expand strategic distribution partnerships, support continued growth in the employer market, and further develop Immediate's private-label Embedded EWA platform, empowering financial institutions to deliver seamless, responsible short-term liquidity within the existing customer relationship.
Since its founding, Immediate has helped employees access the pay they’ve already earned when they need it most, helping reduce financial stress and support stronger financial wellbeing. Today, the company supports more than 625 employers nationwide and continues to grow through strategic partnerships with leading payroll, HCM, and workforce management providers. Recent customer launches, including two of the nation’s largest enterprise organizations, further demonstrate growing demand among large employers for modern financial solutions that improve employee liquidity, cash flow flexibility, and overall financial wellness.
Immediate is also expanding beyond the workplace with a private-label Embedded EWA platform that enables banks and credit unions to offer responsible short-term liquidity directly to retail customers. As consumers increasingly turn to fintech providers for flexible liquidity solutions, Immediate believes financial institutions have an opportunity to deliver similar capabilities within their own digital experiences while strengthening customer engagement, increasing account primacy, and keeping deposits and transaction activity within the banking ecosystem.
"Over the last several years, we've built enterprise-grade infrastructure that powers earned wage access for employers and employees at scale," said Matt Pierce, Founder and CEO of Immediate. "This funding allows us to continue investing in our core employer business while accelerating our work with financial institutions. We believe the next phase of earned wage access will extend beyond the workplace, and we're excited to help banks and credit unions bring these capabilities directly to their customers while remaining at the center of the financial relationship."
BankTech Ventures' investment reflects growing interest among financial institutions in consumer liquidity and financial wellness solutions. Through its network of more than 120 bank limited partners, BankTech Ventures provides Immediate with strategic relationships and industry expertise that can help accelerate adoption of the company's private-label Embedded EWA platform while supporting continued growth across its employer business.
"Immediate has built a strong reputation as a trusted provider of earned wage access and financial wellness solutions, supporting hundreds of employers nationwide," said Carey Ransom, Managing Director of BankTech Ventures. "As we evaluated the company's future direction, we were particularly excited by the opportunity to help financial institutions deliver innovative liquidity and financial wellness products directly to their customers. We believe Immediate is uniquely positioned to connect employers, employees, and financial institutions, and we're excited to support the team as they continue to execute on that vision."
The Series B positions Immediate to continue expanding across both employer-sponsored and financial institution channels. By combining proven enterprise EWA infrastructure with new banking distribution partnerships, Immediate is building a broader financial platform designed to improve access to liquidity, strengthen financial wellness, and create meaningful value for employers, financial institutions, and the people they serve.
